Cost Accountant

Job Summary:
Costing
  • Update standard cost of new purchase and manufacture items on a daily basis
  • Review and control work order material issue variances
  • Review labor and overhead variances
  • Weekly and monthly forecasting of Capital Spend and Depreciation expense
  • Weekly and monthly plant freight review along with monthly freight accrual calculation
  • Partner with internal and external auditors on inventory, fixed assets and cost related matters
  • Participate in annual plant standard cost revision, Physical Inventory, Forecast Cycles, and budgeting process

Responsibilities:
  • Maintenance of fixed assets register as per US GAAP requirements
  • Monthly update depreciation schedule
  • Ensure that the capital expenditure is within the approved Capital Request

Qualifications:
  • The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 1-3 years; at least one year of manufacturing accounting preferred.
  • Accounting, Finance, or related business degree required; Accounting degree highly preferred.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
